The inactivated Aspergillus fumigatus mycelium before and after CTAB modification was used to decolorize Congo red, an anionic azo dye. The results showed that both the A. fumigatus mycelium(AFB)and the modified A. fumigatus mycelium(MAFB)could effectively remove Congo red from dye solution. The kinetics of the overall adsorption process was well described by pseudo-second order kinetic model and the sorption data fit Freundlich isotherm model well, indicating a multilayer adsorption behavior. Chemical modification of the functional groups of A.fumigatus suggested the major involvement of amino groups of A.fumigatus in CR adsorption, while hydroxyl and carboxyl groups played some role. The decolorization mechanism of Congo Red by Aspergillus fumigatus mycelium is described. Below the pH point of zero charge, the amino, hydroxyl and carboxyl groups of the biosorbent are protonated. Therefore, the positive charged biosorbent and the negative charge CR are bound to each other by electrostatic attraction. At the same time, the amino, hydroxyl and carboxyl groups on the biosorbent form hydrogen bonds with Congo Red. While above the pH point of zero charge, the main driving force is the hydrogen- DOI:10.3969/j.issn.1000-1565.2019.06.008改性烟曲霉对刚果红的去除动力学、等温线及机制金显春1,宋嘉宁2(1. 1000-1565(2019)06-0611-08Kinetics, isotherms and mechanisms of Congo red removal by modified Aspergillus fumigatusJIN Xianchun1,SONG Jianing2(1.School of Sciences, Henan Agricultural University, Zhengzhou 450002,China; 2.College of Forestry, Henan Agricultural University, Zhengzhou 450002,China)Abstract:The inactivated Aspergillus fumigatus mycelium before and after CTAB modification was used to decolorize Congo red, an anionic azo dye.
