A new Waugh molybdate formulated as (NH<sub>4</sub>)<sub>2</sub>(C<sub>5</sub>H<sub>6</sub>N)<sub>4</sub>MnMo<sub>9</sub>O<sub>32</sub>·8H<sub>2</sub>O has been isolated by reacting of (NH<sub>4</sub>)<sub>6</sub>MnMo<sub>9</sub>O<sub>32</sub>·6H<sub>2</sub>O and pyridine in aqueous solution, and characterized by single X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR <span>and solid UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Crystal structural analysis indicate that the title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group </span><em><span>P</span></em><span>2<sub>1</sub>/c</span>, <em><span>a</span></em> = 2.1805(17) nm, <em>b</em> = 1.4394(11) nm, <em>c</em> = 1.5707(12) nm, <em>β</em> = 106.68(10)°, <em>V</em> = 4.7225(6) nm<sup>3</sup>, <em>Z</em> = 4, <em>D</em><sub>c</sub> = 3.386g cm<sup>-3</sup>, <em>R</em><sub>1</sub> = 0.0586, <em>wR</em><sub>2</sub> = 0.1831 (<em>I</em>>2<span> , <em>GOF</em> = 1.058.</span>
