Synthesis of a novel two dimensional BINOL metal-organic framework

Abstract: 1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-dihydroxy-6,6'-dicarboxylic acid was synthesized from 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid by esterification, coupling and hydrolysis. A new type of two-dimensional BINOL-Sr metal-organic framework(MOF(1))was synthesized by diffusion method. The complex crystalized in triclinic, P-1, with a = 0.787 5(4)nm, b = 1.242 1(8)nm, c = 1.336 4(9)nm,α= 114.64(2)°, β= 98.644(15)°,γ= 96.093(19)°, V = 1.153 8(13)nm3, Z = 2, R1 = 0.049 6, wR2 = 0.120 6.
