Absorption characteristics of Λ-type and V-type joint atomic systems by the modulation of coupling fields

Abstract: A theoretical study of the absorption characteristics of Λ-type and V-type joint atomic systems by the modulation of coupling fields is performed based on quantum mechanics. Using perturbation method to solve density matrix equations of motion in the system, the probing spectrum is numerically simulated under weak probing field conditions. Using the coupling field 2 as the linked field, we connect V-type system composed of coupling field 1 and coupling field 2 and Λ-type system composed of coupling field 2 and probing field. The line width and multi-window feature of EIT are controlled by tuning the Rabi frequency of coupling field 1, and the nonlinear characteristics of EIT are controlled by tuning the frequency detuning of the coupling field 2.
