Efficiency enhancement in planar-structured perovskite solar cells with enhanced efficiency by solvent engineering with NMP

Abstract: A simple but effective method for improving the perovskite film quality by adding NMP into the precursor solution of perovskite was proposed.By comparing and analyzing the effects of the use of different ratio on the film-forming performances,the optimal additive amount of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP)was found that could contribute to a more uniform and non-defective growth of perovskite crystal nucleation,enable preparation of the smooth and compact film with large grain size which can improve the light absorption capacity and reduce charge recombination.The optimized planar-structured perovskite solar cells was fabricated,displaying a 27.11% enhancement as compared to pre-optimized control PSCs.
