Simulation of the torque control system of in-wheel BLDC motor for electric vehicle

Abstract: The torque control system of in-wheel BLDC motor for electric vehicle was researched. The control system aims at controlling motor output torque and meeting required motor output torque that is transformed by driver required power. The characteristic of motor control system lies in the feedback of motor output torque.The MATLAB/Simulink software is used to build a vehicle simulation platform driving ECE40. The simulation results show that the developed motor torque control system can control motor to meet the driverneed of controlling vehicle speed, and the estimation law can estimate the motor output torque successfully. The strategy for BLDC motor control improves the performance of electric vehicle drive system, and make the motor generate the electric magnetic torque efficiently, steadily and quickly.
