Abstract: In order to investigate the effect of fatigue propagation of reflection cracks on nearby cracks in asphalt roads, this paper uses ABAQUS software to construct a two-dimensional model of road structures with multiple initial cracks. By means of the extended finite element method(XFEM)in the software, the model is subjected to vehicle-thermal shrinkage coupling loads to analyze the dynamic response of cracks at different lengths and distances during the fatigue propagation process, simultaneously analyzing the role of vehicle loads in coupled loads. The results show that the longer the length of the cracks, the smaller the distance between the preset cracks and fatigue propagation cracks in the road, and the more significant the promoting effect of fatigue propagation on crack cracking. Vehicle loads significantly the propagation of fatigue cracks, and facilitate the transformation of cracks from open type cracking to shear type cracking.
