Effects of ALDH2 gene knockout on the development of male mice

Abstract: In order to study the effects of ALDH2 gene knockout on the development of male mice, the effects of ALDH2 gene knockout on male mice were studied by analyzing the organ mass fraction of liver, kidney and testis, histomorphology, tissue antioxidant capacity and total litter size of mice at different weeks of age. The results showed that the cords of hepatocytes of Knockout type(KO)mice at 7 and 10 weeks of age were disordered. At 10 weeks of age, the number of multinucleated hepatocytes, and the black deposits in hepatocytes increased significantly. The kidneys of KO mice at 7 and 10 weeks of age showed obvious interstitial edema. In 7 and 10 weeks of aged mice, the sequence of late spermatogenic cells and spermatogenic cells in testicular seminiferous tubules were disordered. The total antioxidant capacity of liver and kidney in 10 weeks of age KO mice and the total antioxidant capacity of testis in 3 and 5 weeks of age KO mice were significantly lower than that of wild-type(WT)mice. The total number of pups in KO group was significantly less than that of WT mice.
