Abstract: Wolbachia screening from various tissues of two Loxoblemmus species was performed, including heads, alimentary canal, foot muscles, and gonads. DNA was extracted from these tissues, amplified using Wolbachia surface protein gene(wsp)specific primers(81F/691R)followed by sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. All two Loxoblemmus species harbored Wolbachia. The detection ratio of heads and foot muscles apparently higher than alimentary canal and gonads. L. doenitzi and L. equestris presented infection with Wolbachia B and A group, respectively. There were two Wolbachia strains from markedly different subgroup infecting L. doenitzi and L. equestris. These results provide the basis for future study on the effects of Wolbachia on the biology of two Loxoblemmus species.
