Abstract: In order to improve the recoveries of valuable materials such as silver and silicon in waste crystalline silicon solar panels, the experimental parameters which influence the separation efficiency of electrostatic separation were explored. First, the range of factors was determined through a single factor experiment. Then orthogonal experiments were performed to determine the optimal parameters for silver and silicon separation. The optimum parameters configuration of the silver and silicon separation were obtained by using the needle—roller electrostatic separation machine. The results show that the separation efficiency of silver is 94.37% under the optimal parameters configuration, and the efficiency of silicon separation is 78.58%. The optimum parameters for the experiment are configured for the corona electrode angle of 80 °, the electrode spacing of 80 mm, the voltage of 27.5 kV, and the rotating speed of 90 r/min. This study provides the basis for setting the experimental parameters of the electrostatic separation of silver and silicon in waste crystalline silicon solar panels.
