Effect of axial air gap asymmetric fault on the characteristic of electromagnetic torque in generators

Abstract: Air gap eccentricity is a common mechanical fault in generators, the different operating parameters under air gap eccentricity will have an impact on the electromagnetic characteristics of generators. Previous researches mainly focused on the influence of axial air gap uniform eccentricity on the electromagnetic torque fluctuation characteristic. However, rare studies have considered the effects of variations in the axial air gap non-uniform eccentricity(inclination eccentricity). As a supplement, this paper comprehensively analyzes the effect of key operating parameters on electromagnetic torque characteristic in- DOI:10.3969/j.issn.1000-1565.2025.01.001轴向气隙非对称故障对发电机电磁转矩特性的影响何玉灵1,2,付滋翔1,代德瑞1,白洪华3,黄伟灵3(1.华北电力大学 机械工程系,河北 保定 071003;2.华北电力大学 苏州研究院,江苏 苏州 215123;3.浙江振兴阿祥集团,浙江 湖州 313000)摘 要:气隙偏心是发电机中常见的一种机械故障,气隙偏心下不同运行参数将对发电机的电磁特性造成影响.已有研究主要关注轴向气隙均匀偏心对电磁转矩波动的影响,较少关注轴向气隙非均匀偏心(倾斜偏心)所造成的影响.作为补充,该文全面分析了倾斜偏心下关键运行参数差异对发电机电磁转矩波动特性的影响.其中,关键运行参数主要包括倾斜偏心程度及发电机负载差异.整体工作以一台5 kVA的故障模拟发电机为研究对象,通过实验验证了理论分析和有限元分析得到的结果.结果表明:倾斜偏心会为电磁转矩带来额外的二倍频成分,且随着倾斜偏心角度的增大,电磁转矩的直流分量和二倍频成分都增大;随着负载的增加,发电机电磁转矩波动程度加剧,且直流分量和二倍频成分也将增大.关键词:发电机;负载差异;气隙非对称;电磁转矩中图分类号:TM311 文献标志码:A 文章编号:1000-1565(2025)01-0001-09Effect of axial air gap asymmetric fault on the characteristic of electromagnetic torque in generators HE Yuling1,2, FU Zixiang1, DAI Derui1, BAI Honghua3, HUANG Weiling3(1. The key operating parameters include the degree of inclination eccentricity and generation load differences. The whole work was carried out on a 5 kVA fault simulated generator and the results obtained from the theoretical and finite element analysis were verified through experiments. It is shown that the inclined eccentricity introduces an extra double frequency component to the electromagnetic torque and that both the DC component and the second frequency component of the electromagnetic torque increase as the eccentricity angle grow. In addition, as the load increases, the fluctuating characteristics of the generators electromagnetic torque will be increased, and both the DC component and the 2nd harmonic will be increased as well.
