Abstract: In order to understand the ecological health status of rivers in the Daqinghe Basin, monitoring and research were conducted of benthic animals in May and September 2023.The benthic index of biological integrity(B-IBI)was selected to evaluate the health status of rivers in the Daqinghe Basin. According to the ratio method, the 25% percentile of the reference point B-IBI value is used to determine the river health evaluation criteria for the Daqinghe Basin. The survey results indicate that a total of 158 taxonomic units of large benthic animals have been identified in the Daqinghe Basin, including 24 species of mollusks, 9 species of annelids, and 125 species of arthropods. The dominant species in the watershed are Bellamya purifica, Parafossarulus striatulus, Polypedium nubeculosum, and Caridina denticulata sinensis. The evaluation results of the integrity index of large benthic animals show that the river is generally in a moderate state. Among the 67 sampling points, 6 are healthy, 25 are good, 20 are moderate, 15 are poor, and 1 is very poor. Compared to 2018, the health status of rivers in the Daqinghe Basin has improved.
