A new Waugh molybdate formulated as (NH4)2(C5H6N)4MnMo9O32·8H2O has been isolated by reacting of (NH4)6MnMo9O32·6H2O and pyridine in aqueous solution, and characterized by single X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR and solid UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Crystal structural analysis indicate that the title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P21/c, a = 2.1805(17) nm, b = 1.4394(11) nm, c = 1.5707(12) nm, β = 106.68(10)°, V = 4.7225(6) nm3, Z = 4, Dc = 3.386g cm-3, R1 = 0.0586, wR2 = 0.1831 (I>2 , GOF = 1.058.
