Abstract: Primary cultured fetal rat cortical neurons and whole cell patch clamp technique were used for investigating the effect of TNF-α on Na+ currents of cultured cortical neurons. The neurons were treated for 6 and 24 hours respectively by TNF-α(10 and 50 ng/mL). The results showed the inhibition of 50 ng/mL TNF-α on voltage-gated Na+ currents in cortical neurons of rats, but has no effect on the activation properties and the inactivation properties of sodium channel.
