Abstract: As the modernization of the city accelerates, the quality of people's living standards has been improvedret the function of preventing and reducing earthquake in cities has lagged far behind the development of town. Based on the current situation of earthquake shelter planning in Baoding City, some problems of the existing emergency shelters are analyzed, and some countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen the construction of urban emergency shelters are proposed. Taking the basic situations of earthquake shelters in universities and urban park as examples, corresponding planning proposals are presented according to their shortcomings. At the same time, the awareness of Baoding residents earthquake shelter was investigated by means of questionnaires as well as advertising relevant knowledge and information of earthquake shelters.
