Two new species of the genus Ascelosodis (Coleoptera,Tenebrionidae)from Chinese Himalayas

Abstract: Two new species of the genus Ascelosodis Redtenbacher,1868,A.rectus sp.nov.and A.nyalamensis sp.nov.,are described and illustrated from the Chinese Himalayas,and new faunistic data for 27 known species are added.Ascelosodis rectus sp.nov.(Figs.1,2)The new species resembles Ascelosodis schmidi Kaszab,1965,with the following differences:anterior margin of clypeal lobe weakly sinuate;genae gradually wider before eyes;pronotum with anterior angles obtuse,rounded apically and with anterior margin shortly prominent in the middle;the fifth abdomen extending the end straight.Etymology:Named after the fifth abdomen extending the end straight.Holotype:♂,China,Tibet,Lhazê,Cuola Mountain,28°53.959'N,87°25.182'E;alt.5 064 m,2 August 2011,collected by Ren Guodong.Paratypes:16♂27♀,same data as the holotype.Ascelosodis nyalamensis sp.nov.(Figs.3,4)The new species resembles A.emarginata Ren & Shi,2006,with the following differences:Sides of prothorax and elytra with very sparsely ciliate beneath;pronotal surface with coarse punctures,slightly denser on disc than on sides and rugae between disc and sides;elytra base with obscure but finely entire- 收稿日期:2015-07-25 基金项目:国家自然科学基金资助项目(31572309) 第一作者:单军生(1988—),男,河北石家庄人,河北大学在读硕士研究生.E-mail:junshengshan@163.com 通信作者:任国栋(1955—),男,宁夏中宁人,河北大学教授,博士生导师,主要从事鞘翅目异跗节类的系统分类研究.E-mail:gdren@hbu.edu.cn第2期单军生等:中国喜马拉雅山宽额甲属2新种记述(鞘翅目:拟步甲科)河北大学学报(自然科学版) 第36卷 bordered;Elytra surface with sparsely and obscurely shallow punctures.Etymology:Named after the type locality.Holotype:♂,China,Tibet,Nyalam,Mainpu,Tulong,28°25.841'N,86°08.840'E,Alt.4 478 m,30 July 2014,collected by Ren Guodong.Paratypes:1♂3♀,collected by Ren Guodong,Bai Xinglong and Shan Junsheng,same data as the holotype.
