Abstract: Callus of Hylotelephium tatarinowii(Maxim.)H. Ohba was treated by different concentrations of polyethylene glycol(PEG 6 000)for stress treatment in the study. The activity of peroxidase(POD), superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)in callus was measured, and isozyme expressions of POD, SOD and esterase(EST)were analyzed by non-denatured polypropylene gel electrophoresis. The activity of POD, SOD and CAT increased gradually with the increase of concentration and the prolongation of stress time when the concentration of PEG 6 000 was 0.5%—5.0%, and the growth state of callus was normal. When the concentration of PEG 6 000 was 8%, the activity of POD, SOD and CAT decreased sharply with the prolongation of stress time.
