Abstract: To investigate the antioxidation activities of earthworm lyophilized powder, the 60 mice were randomly divided into five groups, the mice in normal group were fed with standard feeds, the mice in hyperlipidemic group were fed with high-level lipid feeds, and the other three experimemtal groups were fed with high-level lipid feeds while being treated with earthworm lyophilized powder at dosages of 0.6 g/kg,0.4 g/kg,0.2 g/kg respectively.Malondialdehyde(MDA) and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in serum were measured. In vitro a phloroglucinol system was used to produce superoxide anions(O~-_2) and H_2O_2 system was used to generate hydroxyl free radicals(OH~-),the clearing effects of different concentration of earthworm lyophilized powder supernatant fluid on free radicals were measured. The results indicated earthworm lyophilized powder supernatant fluid decreased the level of MDA and SOD in serum effectivly. 0.06 g/mL of earthworm lyophilized powder has 23.9% clearing rate on superoxide anions and has 94.6% suppression ratio on hydroxyl free radicals.
